Alok A. Kumar leads the ESG & Sustainability function at Fortis Healthcare - one of the leading integrated healthcare providers of India.

Alok is a seasoned sustainability leader, having completed his PGDM from IIM Bangalore and undergraduate degree in B.Arch from IIT Kharagpur. At Fortis Healthcare, Alok is heading the ESG initiatives, and is captaining the ESG champions’ team - a cross-functional squad of passionate sustainability professionals nominated by the facility directors at each of the Fortis hospital units as ESG SPOCs. Together the team is leading focused on-ground initiatives targeting improvements in energy intensity, water intensity, and responsible bio-medical waste management at Fortis hospitals.

Prior to working with Fortis Healthcare, Alok was leading the managing director’s cell at Jindal Stainless Limited - where he was instrumental in bringing the ESG initiatives of Jindal Stainless to fruition. At JSL, Alok championed the customers’ voice in the ESG supply-chain landscape. Alok was awarded the ‘Best Trainer’ award and the ‘Super Squad’ award for his distinguished performance at JSL.

Alok has been a Tata Administrative Services officer (batch of 2013), and has served various teams in Tata Communications, Tata Housing, Tata chemicals, and Tata sons, leading a wide spectrum of responsibilities. Alok was awarded the ‘Blue Ribbon’ award, the ‘Whatever it takes’ award and the ‘Xtra Mile’ award for his praiseworthy performance at Tata Communications Limited.

Notably, in the aftermath of the 2013 Uttarakhand flooding disaster, Alok was a part of a specialized reconstruction and rehabilitation team of Tata Sons, operating on ground, based out of Dehradun and Rudraprayag, Uttarakhand.

Captain Baban Rai served in the Army Medical Corps for 34 years, from November 1975 to December 2009, holding various technical and administrative roles. He also served as an active Paratrooper from 1984 to 1990. Following his retirement from the Army Hospital RR Delhi in December 2009, he assumed the position of Head of Department for Central Sterile Service s Department (CSSD) at the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre in March 2010. In addition to his routine CSSD responsibilities, he oversaw the procurement and billing of implants for patients.

Further More, Captain Rai currently serves as the President of the Indian Sterilization Healthcare Association (ISHA), a non-governmental organization dedicated to educating healthcare professionals about Sterile Services. He has trained medical device stake holders from CDSCO, industry and several Govt institutions.

Dr. Anwar is keen on using data-driven decision-making in healthcare and process optimization to improve overall healthcare outcomes. He spearheaded the digitalization of the End Stage Renal Disease program in SEHA and the digitalization of the Complete Acute Kidney Injury Management pipeline at SSMC and helped set up the Paired Kidney Exchange program in UAE.
